St. Mark Announcements:
Church Halls Re-Opening—We are delighted to announce that our halls will be open to be used by parishioners and the public starting May 1. Of course, we are relying on people’s common sense and goodwill toward the community as they host events as we will not be overseeing activities. Please know that there MAY be an additional cleaning fee, particularly if there are back-to-back events. For St. Mark/St. Patrick, call (563-928-7200).

NEW PICTORIAL DIRECTORY “Who is that, anyway?”—Now as we come out of our pandemic “lockdown” and get back into the groove, it’s even more important to make connections with each other—both in our parishes and within our pastorate. After consulting with the Parish Pastoral Councils, we have made the decision to launch a NEW PICTORIAL DIRECTORY which will encompass all five Emmaus parishes! For some, it has been at least five years since the last, and for a couple parishes, much longer. As in the past, each and every parishioner/family is encouraged to have their photo taken, at no cost. You are then able to order any photos you might want for your family, Christmas cards, etc., in the size and quantity you determine. We think this is a great way to “get back in the saddle” post-COVID by connecting in the directory. Each family will receive a finished five-parish directory, so you can figure out “Who IS that, anyway?”

Online Scheduling NOW Available for St. Mark Parish Center, Edgewood, IA for June 15-19! To schedule your photography appointment online, simply go to www.ucdir.com, click on photography appointment scheduling login on the right side, enter ia127 in the Church Code field and enter photos in the Church Password field. Follow the prompts to schedule your family’s appointment time. If you have 6 or more in your family please use 2 consecutive time slots. The online scheduling option is available Monday through Friday. Appointments fill up quickly, so schedule as soon as possible to secure your preferred date and time. Warning: If you sign up for a day other than June 15-19, you will be traveling to a different town!
If you/your family is unable to have their picture taken that week, you will be able to schedule it at another parish. We look forward to SEEING you (and your picture) in our new EMMAUS PASTORATE DIRECTORY!

New Parish Bereavement Ministry - Have you heard about the newest ministry in the Emmaus Pastorate—Parish Bereavement Ministry (PBM) which is a program that will provide support to those experiencing the loss of a loved one? It is a 13 week program that will be offered twice a year, the first one started April 22. Edgewood Rodeo Days are fast approaching! Are you a fan of the parade? If you would be willing to help with a St. Mark entry, please call the office. (563-928-7200) Our beautiful "new" church is 25 years old this year, so wouldn't it be great to commemorate its construction and celebrate everyone who contributed to make it a reality!

Pastorate Baptism Class—It is the practice of the Emmaus Pastorate that parents expecting their first child participate in a baptism class. The next class is scheduled for July 21 at St. Joseph, Elkader. If you have an upcoming baptism, please join us. Classes are open to all parents of the Emmaus Pastorate.

Mother’s Day Cupcake Bouquet—NCYC fundraiser!! What a special way to celebrate Mother's Day. Come to Mass with the special women in your life and present a cupcake bouquet to them on the way out of church. Not going to be here on Mother’s Day weekend? No worries, they can pick it up after Mass or it can be delivered within Elkader, Strawberry Point or Edgewood for $5. We are selling a limited quantity of these, so place your order early. Mother’s Day cupcake bouquets are available for $20 per bouquet. Arrangements will be available for pick up at Mass on Mother’s Day weekend (St. Joseph and St. Mary Church—May 8 and St. Mark Church—May 9). Deliveries will be made on Saturday, May 8. Orders and payment must be received by May 1. Please contact Janine Berns or Lori Keppler with questions. Order forms will be available in the back of the church or from NCYC attendees.

Vacation Bible School is coming up! There WILL be community Vacation Bible school this summer! If you have not registered your child yet for this fun, faith-filled week of learning activities, forms can be picked up at St. Mark Catholic Church or Trinity United Methodist Church. Children need to be registered by May 10th!
