An Opportunity to Help!
The Christian Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is holding a clothing
drive for the 8,700 Afghan refugees who have been placed at
Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Due to military restrictions, they are
asking for only NEW CLOTHING because only new clothing can
be delivered quickly to the refugees. Shirts, pants, underwear, socks, shoes,
jackets, and coats are needed for babies, toddlers, children, pre-teen, women, and
men (sizes small through large only are needed for men) and men’s belts, sizes 32-
38. Many of the Afghans, both women and children, arrived with only the clothing
they were wearing. The Red Cross does not provide clothing. The clothing drive
ends October 3. If you are able to assist, please bring any clothing to your church
between Monday, September 27, and Sunday, October 3rd. There will a place available in the back of all Pastorate churches for your donations. Thank you for any
assistance you can provide for these refugees.
There will be a bin at St. Patrick this weekend.
