Food Drive
The next food drive at St. Joseph will be May 7, this Saturday. Clayton County Food Shelf especially needs cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned and dried fruit, string cheese, and dry dinners (like Hamburger Helper and Tuna Helper).
Cemetery Riverview Expansion
St. Joseph's First Annual Perennial Plant Sale will be held Saturday, May 21 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at the Parish Hall. It'll be hosted by friends of St. Joseph's Cemetery Riverview expansion project. Want to donate plants, bulbs, etc.?? Call Plant Ladies Becky Gundacker 563-419-4025, Nancy Schmelzer 563-880-6077, or Mike Rentschler 563-8801316. A meal will also be served following the 4:00pm Mass with BBQ sandwiches, chips, baked beans, and a bar. Free will offerings/donations from both events will go toward the Cemetery Riverview expansion project.
Cemetery Spring Cleaning
Please dispose of flowers, pots, decorations, etc. that are weathered or broken. Remember that for safety reasons, NO glass jars, vases, or other materials are allowed. Anything deemed a safety hazard will be immediately removed. Thanks!
Treasure!
The annual Treasure Sale is scheduled for August 13! As you spring clean, set aside anything you can donate to us!
WHOA! We raised over $500 for Ukraine on Holy Thursday! All loose change in the collection was sent to Catholic Relief Services.

Spring Beauty!
Thanks to Parish Life, each resident at Elkader Care Center, Kingston Court, and Scenic Acres, and all homebound parishioners received some beautiful flowers!
Behold Your Child is a ministry developed in collaboration by the Archdiocesan Offices of Marriage and Family Life, Respect Life and Social Justice, and Catholic Charities to provide hope and healing for parents and families who have experienced a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis, miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death (whether recently or years ago). Kathy Riniker will introduce this ministry to the Emmaus Pastorate over the next few weeks. To help lead or participate, please call her at 563-920-4772. Parish Elections
In May, each parish will hold elections for Pastoral Council and Faith Formation Commission. Be sure to cast your vote on May 22!!
Adult Faith Formation
Diane Meyer is replacing Jane Christiansen on the Adult Faith Formation Committee. Thanks to Jane for all of her work over the years! Diane completed Impact several years ago, and we look forward to her input!
Fourteen people attended the Introduction to the Bible class. Many said they'll read one of the Gospels this summer. Watch the bulletin for more information about another class!
Wednesday, May 18 will be the next episode and discussion of Chosen. It starts at 6:30pm at St. Mary Parish.
Sister Ann Jackson led a retreat on the Sabbath at St. Joseph and is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Prariewoods, the Franciscan Spirituality Center. You can send her a note of congratulations at 120 E Boyson Road Hiawatha, IA 52233.
The current Bereavement Class will finish on May 31. Another session will begin in the fall. Thanks for all the families who donated snacks for each class, and thanks to Janine Berns for helping to prepare the space each week!
